Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

The International Committee on Composite Materials is committed to ethical publishing practices for the International Conference on Composite Materials (ICCM) as follows:

1. Editorial Responsibilities

  • The local organising committee and international scientific committee make decisions based on academic merit and ethical standards.
  • Editorial contact: [email protected]

2. Author Responsibilities

  • Authors must submit original contributions (including for instance new methods, new results, new interpretations, new observations, new perspectives, literature reviews, market reviews or details of industrial practice), properly cite sources, and avoid plagiarism.
  • Authors must not submit the same work to multiple conferences or journals simultaneously.

3. Reviewer Responsibilities

  • Reviewers must provide objective, confidential, and timely evaluations.
  • Any conflicts of interest must be disclosed.

4. Plagiarism and Research Misconduct

  • Proven cases of misconduct will result in rejection and retraction.
  • Conference organisers are responsible for ensuring the originality of all submissions, including the use of plagiarism detection software where available.
  • Authors found to have committed plagiarism may be barred from future ICCM submissions.

5. Data Availability and Transparency

  • Authors are encouraged to make underlying data available where possible.
  • ICCM supports open science and reproducibility.

6. Use of Generative AI

  • Authors may use generative AI tools to assist with language editing and improving clarity. AI tools must not be used to generate original research content or fabricate data.
  • Authors retain full responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of their work.
  • Use of AI tools should be disclosed in the acknowledgements section where applicable.

7. Complaints and Appeals

  • Any individual may raise concerns regarding published content, editorial conduct, or ethical issues by contacting [email protected].
  • Complaints will be acknowledged within 14 days and investigated by the ICCM Executive Council or a designated committee.
  • Authors who wish to appeal an editorial decision may submit a written justification to the conference chair. Appeals are reviewed by an independent member of the scientific committee.

8. Corrections and Retractions

  • If significant errors are discovered after publication, ICCM will issue corrections or retractions as appropriate.
