Peer Review Process

The ICCM Conference Series is committed to maintaining rigorous scholarly standards through a transparent peer review process.

Submission

Authors submit papers through the conference management system of the hosting institution. Submissions must be original work that has not been previously published or submitted elsewhere.

Review Process

  • All submissions undergo anonymous peer review by independent experts in the relevant field.
  • Reviewers are selected from the international scientific committee and the broader composites research community based on their expertise.
  • Reviewers are not part of the editorial staff of the conference.

Review Criteria

Papers are evaluated on:

  • Originality — novelty of the contribution
  • Scientific significance — importance of findings to the field
  • Methodology — soundness of the approach
  • Clarity — quality of writing and presentation
  • Relevance — fit with the conference scope

Decisions

Based on reviewer recommendations, the scientific committee makes one of the following decisions:

  • Accept — paper accepted for presentation and publication
  • Revise — authors invited to revise and resubmit
  • Reject — paper not accepted

Plagiarism and Originality Screening

ICCM takes a firm stance against plagiarism and all forms of research misconduct. Conference organisers are responsible for verifying the originality of all submissions. ICCM expects that appropriate measures are taken to detect plagiarism, including the use of plagiarism detection software where available. Any submission found to contain plagiarised content will be rejected, and published papers found to be plagiarised will be retracted. Authors found to have committed plagiarism may be barred from future ICCM submissions.

Editorial Oversight

The editorial process is managed by a local organising committee and an international scientific committee appointed for each conference edition, operating under the standards set by the ICCM Editorial Board (Executive Council).

Conflict of Interest

Reviewers must declare any conflicts of interest. Papers where a conflict exists are reassigned to alternative reviewers.

Appeals

Authors who wish to appeal a rejection may contact the conference chair with a written justification. Appeals are reviewed by an independent member of the scientific committee.

Use of Generative AI

Authors may use generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot) to assist with language editing, grammar checking, and improving the clarity of their manuscripts. However, AI tools must not be used to generate original research content, fabricate data, or produce scientific conclusions. Authors must take full responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of their submitted work. The use of AI tools should be disclosed in the acknowledgements section of the paper where applicable.
