The Ninth International Conference on Composite Materials (ICCM-9) will be held for the first time, in Spain after the successes of previous meetings in Switzerland, U.S.A., Canada, France, Japan, U.K. and China. These conferences, celebrated every two years, as it has become a tradition for ICCM have demonstrated how relevant and important for international co-operation the ICCM is by its number of attendants as well as by their scientific rigour.

The Conference organisers received more then 930 abstfacts, from which about 670 papers from 46 countries were accepted. In addition to the 600 oral presentations fourteen invited papers on topics of special interest will be given.

Special thanks are extended to all the members of Committees and the Group of Composites of University of Zaragoza: J. J. Alba, S. Baselga, P. Bravo, M. J. Casamayor, I. Gonzalez, E. Larrodé, G. Peon, A. Romanos and J. Ullod. Secretary tasks have been carried out by P. Abarca, M. Borraz, A. Laborde and T. Labordé. Thanks to all of them for their work and illusion.

We are grateful also for the support received from our sponsors:
