Important notice for using this CD-ROM

Before you start…

This CD-ROM contains the Proceedings of the Twelfth International Conference on Composite Materials ( ICCM12 ) held in Paris July 1999.
The CD ROM is a series of HTML files which can be read using a web-like browser. All papers are stored on the disk under the Portable Document Format (PDF) from Adobe™ Acrobat®. Access to the paper is given by reading the beginning of each paper ( Title, Authors, Summary, Keywords) through a search by content (sorted by themes of the Conference) or a search by keywords (any name, any word, or part of word, or string of characters using logical function such as AND, OR, NOT etc…)

 

Minimum configuration required :

For a PC based system :
Windows® 95 and later version
A version 4 browser such as Internet Explorer 4.xx Microsoft™ and later version, or Netscape ™ Navigator® 4.xx and later version
Adobe™ Acrobat Reader® version 3.xx and later version.
Minimum screen display 800x600 and 256 colours minimum.

For a MAC based system :
MAC OS 8.x minimum.
A version 4 browser such as Internet Explorer 4.xx Microsoft™ and later version, or Netscape ™ Navigator® 4.xx and later version
Adobe ™ Acrobat Reader ® version 3.xx and later version.
Minimum screen display 800x600 and 256 colours minimum.

 

How to install …

If you do not have one of the above mentioned software, Netscape ™ Navigator ® 4.5 and Adobe™ Acrobat Reader ® 4.0 are given on the CD-ROM in the following directory :
/soft/MAC for MAC system users
/soft/PC for PC system users

For better results you must first install NETSCAPE and then install ACROBAT READER. If you do not follow this order the reading module will not be implemented into Netscape. Some functionalities could be not operating.

To install Netscape and/or Acrobat Reader follow the instructions in the corresponding directory of the CD-ROM.

 

Getting started ….

If you have a web browser and Acrobat reader installed on your computer you can use directly the CD-ROM.

Using the CD-ROM is simple. All you need is to click on the file named : index.htm in the main directory of the CD-ROM and browse through the proposed options.

IMPORTANT NOTICE : The search engine uses the JAVA Technology. This option should be activated in the preferences of your browser ( Netscape or Internet Explorer ).
