ULTIMATE SHEAR OF BEAMS STRENGTHENED WITH CFRP SHEETS

Summary The role of externally applied CFRP sheets in the evaluation of the shear strength of a reinforced concrete element is analyzed. With regard to this an analytical model is developed. It represents an extension of an existing model for the limit analysis of thin-webbed reinforced concrete beams falling in shear. A numerical analysis is performed to investigate on the influence of the mechanical and the geometrical parameters of the composite sheets on the ultimate shear capacity of the RC beams.
